The lawsuit was filed by Minneapolis-based law firm Blackwell Burke on behalf of 11 consumers, in a US District Court in Minnesota.
In response, ConAgra said that Hebrew National products are kosher, and the lawsuit is without merit. It said that Hebrew National's kosher status is certified by a well-recognized and authorized third-party.
According to ConAgra, there is close rabbinical supervision of the food preparation process and packaging equipment.
